Morpheus8: Your guide to maximizing results

In this post, we’ll review the ideal candidate for Morpheus8 face and body treatments and deliver tips on finding the best provider. The two most critical factors in maximizing are the provider’s skill and if you are an ideal candidate for treatments.

Morpheus8 treatments have been gaining popularity and getting a lot of positive feedback from all types of patients. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Lindsey Lohan are raving about their results. Actual results depend on the patient’s target skin area’s current condition and the provider’s skills. With a low risk of complications, brief recovery time, and delivering consistently good results, Morpheus8 continues to be the best non-invasive aesthetic treatment.

What is it, and what does it do?

The Morpheus8 device provides micro needling with radio frequency to remodel collagen, tighten skin and melt fat. The Morpheus8 is safe and FDA-approved for all skin types. The minimally invasive treatments improve mild to moderate facial creases, deep lines, small fat deposits on the face and neck, jowls, and sagging on the cheeks, neck, and under the eyes. It stimulates collagen production and resurfaces your skin for a younger-looking you with minimal downtime. If you want natural skin tightening, Morpheus8 is the best most affordable comparable treatment available. For severe sagging skin or very deep wrinkles, you may need more invasive surgical treatments (i.e.facelift) to obtain desired results. It is key to choose a licensed provider who will take the time to provide a free consultation, complete a thorough skin assessment, help to identify your goals, answer questions and openly discuss whether you are a good candidate for treatment given your goals.

How do I choose a provider for treatment?

The best providers have both training and experience.  Check reviews for indications on customer service, clinic quality, and cleanliness.  The provider operating a Morpheus8 should be licensed and be a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, Physician’s Assistant or Naturopathic Doctor.  It is important that the clinician providing the treatment has the education and a good understanding of the skin and infection control. Crafted Vitality is a high quality provider with a OBGYN Medical Director who specializes in Morpheus8 treatments and provide registered nurses with extensive training, guidance, and oversight.

A provider who has not had adequate training or experience can cause seriously negative outcomes if they do not program the device‘s depth and energy settings properly.  Providers with a limited understanding of skin types risk further worsening sun spots and scarring by programming too much heat.  Providers who do not understand the layers of the skin may cause volume loss where you do not want volume loss, like your cheeks, because they penetrate certain layers of the skin too deeply.  An inexperienced provider or a provider rushing treatment may cause skin texture and color damage, such as excessive grid marks or even micro-scarring if they fail to use proper technique.

How does the process work?

The first step in the process is to schedule a consultation with your provider. During a consultation, your provider will examine your targeted skin area and review your health history.  The provider will help you identify and discuss your treatment goals and options and if there are any risk factors that may affect the suggested treatment regimen.  Most providers offer discounts for treatment packages as most patients require more than one treatment.

About a week before your procedure, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen, as these medications thin the blood.  Use of these products pre-procedure may increase the risk of bruising.  Three days pre-procedure, discontinue Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy acids, Retinol, or Vitamin C, and avoid intentional and direct sunlight.

Am I a good candidate?

For most candidates, Morpheus8  is a proven and effective treatment in the hands of a qualified provider. The key to maximizing results is to get a good consultation to identify if you are a good candidate and choose an experienced, skilled provider who is trained in the proper technique and carefully follows pre and post-procedure instructions carefully. Crafted Vitality, as a quality provider, offers extensive consultation both before and after the treatment.

You are generally not a candidate for treatment if you have any of the following:  a pacemaker or internal defibrillator, or another metallic or electronic implant anywhere in the body, current or history of skin cancer or pre-malignant moles, pregnancy and nursing. Impaired immune system due to immunosuppressive diseases such as AIDS and HIV or use of immunosuppressive medications. Patients with a history of diseases stimulated by heat, such as recurrent Herpes Simplex in the treatment area, may be treated only following a prophylactic regime. Poorly controlled endocrine disorders, such as diabetes or thyroid dysfunction. Any active skin condition in the treatment area, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, and rash. History of skin disorders, keloids, abnormal wound healing, and very dry and fragile skin. History of bleeding coagulopathies or use of anticoagulants in the last ten days. Any facial surgery performed within a year before treatment. Facial dermabrasion, facial resurfacing, or deep chemical peeling within the last three months if face is treated.  Use of Isotretinoin (Accutane®) within six months before treatment.

Pre-treatment

What can I expect during the procedure?

During your treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to your skin and left for at least 45 minutes to minimize discomfort.  The procedure typically takes an additional 30-45 minutes after numbing, depending on the size of the treatment area.

What can I expect post procedure?
Post-treatment

After the procedure, patients may notice slight bruising, redness, or swelling at or near the treatment area. The skin may feel tight and  sunburned for 24 hours post-procedure. You will want to avoid intentional and direct sunlight, strenuous activity, and tanning beds for at least 24 hours. Most people see an improvement in their skin in just a few days and can wear makeup in a day or two. Maximum results are generally seen in about three weeks.

It is normal to experience mild bruising depending on the area being treated. You may experience skin sloughing for 3-5 days post-procedure (this is ok and just think of the glowing new skin under the layers of dead skin cells).  It is more likely to experience these side effects if the treatment site is large. For 48 hours post-treatment, do not use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy acids, Retinol, or Vitamin C.

The best way to ensure post-procedure side effects are minimized is to work with an experienced and licensed provider and to follow all of the post-procedure instructions closely.
